


John's parents were Jesse HENSON and Phoebe FRALEY (also spelled FRAYLEY, FRAILEY. John worked as a farmer and in the public works water department. They had 11 children who were all born in Arkansas except Elsie the youngest who was born after the turn of the century in Shawnee Oklahoma where they were pioneer residents. Going back a generation, Angus was the son of John HENSON and Sarah Elmira ORRICK who were both born in Arkansas. Some of the photos that are included I hadn't seen before. Her Henson-Hunt article is on pages 303-306 her shorter Hunt-Henson story is on page 329. Around 1982 Mildred wrote a couple of articles on her family for a local history book titled " Forests, furrows and faith : a history of Boyle and districts" which is now available online. Bessie's parents were also homesteading in the area.Īccording to my Aunt Mildred (Henson) Fiveland, growing up on the homestead was not easy, as there were plenty of hardships. About 1913 the family moved from Oklahoma with two young children and tried their luck at homesteading in Flat Creek Alberta Canada (where Ethel was born), and then in Boyle Alberta (where the rest of their 7 children were born).


He was the son of Henry Angus HENSON of Arkansas USA (known as Angus) and Bessie Mae HUNT of Missouri USA who married in 1910 in Oklahoma USA. Claudia's father was Claude Angus HENSON, born 1919 in Boyle Alberta Canada, who tragically died in a logging accident in 1954 in Sooke BC Canada.
