3G grandparents - William H "Billy" HENSON jr.

Father - Claude Angus HENSON (1919 - 1954).

William HENSON Sr was probably one of 7 children born to Paul HENSON who was born about 1710 in Wilke City Virginia and died about or before 1796 in North Carolina. They had 12 children and passed away in Kentucky. Of course Billy Jr was the son of William HENSON (who may have been born about 1745 in Harper's Ferry Virginia) and Anne JACOBS (born 1759 Harper's Ferry Virginia). Jesse HENSON was the oldest son of "Billy" HENSON Jr of North Carolina and Lavina OSBURN of Kentucky, who were married in Floyd County Kentucky in 1824. Other researchers have traced this HENSON line back three more generations. They ended up having 14 children, give or take! By 1860 Jesse was a farmer with his own land and had 8 young children, none of whom were attending school according to the census.

John's parents were Jesse HENSON and Phoebe FRALEY (also spelled FRAYLEY, FRAILEY. John worked as a farmer and in the public works water department. They had 11 children who were all born in Arkansas except Elsie the youngest who was born after the turn of the century in Shawnee Oklahoma where they were pioneer residents. Going back a generation, Angus was the son of John HENSON and Sarah Elmira ORRICK who were both born in Arkansas. Some of the photos that are included I hadn't seen before. Around 1982 Mildred wrote a couple of articles on her family for a local history book titled " Forests, furrows and faith : a history of Boyle and districts" which is now available online. Bessie's parents were also homesteading in the area.Īccording to my Aunt Mildred (Henson) Fiveland, growing up on the homestead was not easy, as there were plenty of hardships. About 1913 the family moved from Oklahoma with two young children and tried their luck at homesteading in Flat Creek Alberta Canada (where Ethel was born), and then in Boyle Alberta (where the rest of their 7 children were born).

He was the son of Henry Angus HENSON of Arkansas USA (known as Angus) and Bessie Mae HUNT of Missouri USA who married in 1910 in Oklahoma USA. Claudia's father was Claude Angus HENSON, born 1919 in Boyle Alberta Canada, who tragically died in a logging accident in 1954 in Sooke BC Canada.
